One of my dear friends bought Sadie an Origami kit for her birthday. Sadie LOVED this gift from the moment she opened it and she couldn’t wait to begin making her beautiful creations. Well...might I just say Origami is for brain surgeons and above ONLY. Really, this project had me beside myself. Even with a the best of instruction booklet and the fantastic illustrated directions I could not make ONE piece of art. So what did I do you ask? I did what every good mom does...I delegated to Nana. :-). The two of them will tackle this project all by themselves later this week.
Please tell me, has there been a time when a child’s toy has left you feeling completely incompetent?

A word of enouragement
We JUST put in a pool - I mean literally just put in a pool - the kids swam for the first time last night - and already my sliding glass doors are covered with fingerprints. Well, this morning while sipping my hot coffee I read this...
"They will be gone before you know it. The fingerprints on the wall will appear higher and higher, and then suddenly they will disappear". Dorothy Evslin
Well that was enough to keep my grounded. I want to savor this summer and these first memories of having a pool. There will be plenty of time to wash the windows when my kids are grown and gone.
Be encouraged and enjoy your day!

WELCOME!
Good Morning
Coffee has been my "comfort food" for as long as I can remember. I love the way coffee smells. I love the way coffee tastes but most importantly I love the fellowship that surrounds coffee.
So I created this blog in an effort to come together with friends, have a cup of coffee and openly share our hopes, our dreams and our fears.
This is a place for you to be encouraged and to encourage others as we embrace the journey of life through parenthood.
Here is a little about me:
I am happily married (14 years) to the love of my life. We have 3 amazing kids. 2 we adopted from Russia in 2004 and 1 we adopted domestically in 2006. Life in our home is busy, noisy, messy, fun and full of love. We love the Lord, we love life and we love sharing what the Lord has done in our life.
We invite you on this journey with us and pray your time here will be blessing filled!
Will you join me for a cup of coffee?
